TMI Tuesday… Moral Dilemmas Ahead

1) You are at your best friend’s wedding just an hour before the ceremony is to start. Earlier that day, you came across definitive proof that your best friend’s spouse-to-be is having an affair with the best man/maid of honor, and you catch them sneaking out of a room together looking disheveled. If you tell your friend about the affair, their day will be ruined, but you don’t want them to marry a cheater. What do you do?
a. Tell your best friend and ruin what is supposed to be the best day of his/her life

b. Say nothing and let the wedding go as planned
c. Confront the intended groom/bride, and insist they ‘fess up to your best friend ✔️   I would confront the guilty party and tell them to sort this out and not break my BF’s heart!

d. Speak up when the wedding officiant says, “If any of you has reasons why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

2) If you saw someone shoplifting, what would you do?

Nothing. It’s not my place or job to police anyone else.

3) An out of control train is running down a track towards five people. You are on a bridge under which the train will pass and you can stop it by dropping a heavy weight in front of it. As it happens, there is a very large man next to you. Your only way to stop the train is to push the man over the bridge and onto the track, killing him to save the five people.

Would you push the man off the bridge? YES or NO

Ah what!? Nooooooooooooo!

This is hard. By doing nothing I allow five people to die but if I push the man I am killing him. Why can’t I just yell like hell at the people to move the fuck out of the way?!

4) A handsome/pretty in-law has flirted with you for years. You find them very attractive. It is obvious he/she wishes to pursue a relationship with you. If you were sure no one would ever know, would you:

a. Make it clear to them you’re not interested

b. Continue to flirt, but go no further ✔️ Don’t crap where you eat!

c. Make them the main fuel of your sexual fantasies ✔️ Possibly this too!

d. Let the relationship become physical–no one will ever know.

5) Would you rather have one year off at your current rate of pay OR work your current job for a year at double your current rate of pay?

I don’t work!

Bonus: Why should anyone care what consenting adults do in private?

They shouldn’t! As long as it is consensual and no one is being damaged by it, (unless that’s part of the fun!), then do whatever floats your boat, gets your rocks off, tickles your fancy!

  1. Reading that train question, I wanted to scream “Don’t be fucking stupid! If the train is out of control, only getting derailed/into sticky/non sleek material going uphill is going to stop it. Do these people have no idea of inertia? Plus if throwing something heavy in front of it would stop it, it would have to be something that doesn’t get damaged by the impact, otherwise most of the energy gets dissipated right away and the train keeps going. So a body wouldn’t achieve this!
    Ugh!
Is it bad that this is the thing that touched me most from this post? Can you tell I’m actually a big nerd and only get to hide it parts of the time? 😉

  2. 1. Yeah I would do that too.

    2. I had a tough time with that one for myself.

    3. bwhahahaha! Well you found a solution. But I think they are too far away to hear you yell.

    4. Amen! Great advice and I have learned to live by it.

    5. Sounds like you are taking the year off 🙂

    Happy TMI Tuesday.
